European Union funded development agencies will start a 2-year project on the Social Code. This initiative aims to back a sustainable, fair and efficient social protection system in Georgia.

“In an early phase, the arrangement of the country’s social protection system, as well as the legislation regulating social protection, will be examined. European Union patterns and legislations will be compared to Georgia”, - said Ekaterine Tikaradze, the Minister of Health.

“This is a turning point for the country’s development. Parliament will involve in the project… Ultimately, we will be able to apply for EU membership in 2024 and prepare a social security system serving this goal”, - added the Speaker of the Parliament Kakha Kutchava.
