The Chairman of the United National Movement Nika Melia will run for the post of Tbilisi mayor for the second time.
As Melia said, Tbilisi must return its function, with its driving force becoming young people again.
“Today I stand before you and declare on behalf of myself and my political union that my mayorship will end the tradition when the city council is an unconditional executor of the wishes and demands of the mayor.
My mayorship means that the multi-party council will not be my backyard, but will be my main controller and ally. It will ensure that I don’t make mistakes and force me to do more and do better. My mayorship means that the chairperson of the council will not be a representative of my party”, - said Nika Melia.
