The Legal Issues Committee discussed with the I reading the Bill on Exemption from the Administrative Reprimands and the Bill on Amnesty concerning the violation of the pandemic-related regulations.
Any person, violating the isolation and/or quarantine, facemask wearing and emergency situation as before June 23, 2021, is it the person under the administrative penalty or under a criminal case, shall be subject to amnesty.
Pursuant to the Bill on Exemption from the Administrative Reprimands, all the persons shall be exempted from the unpaid administrative penalty, towards which, the Resolution on the Imposition of the Administrative Penalty has not been enforced.
Pursuant to the Bill on Amnesty, the offender shall be exempted from the criminal responsibility and considered as non-convicted.
According to the Parliamentary Secretary of the Government, Beka Dochviri, the Bills apply to up to 245 000 persons with penalties in a total of GEL 76 million.
The Committee approved the Bills.
