Six Georgian nationals have been evacuated from Kabul with a Hungarian plane – they are already in Tbilisi.
All six have worked for a U.S. company in Afghanistan. The Ministry asserted that the Georgian authorities “continue working actively” to repatriate 17 other Georgians stranded in Kabul.
“Due to the current events in Afghanistan, the situation is not predictable, which made it necessary to evacuate our citizens to their homeland, to return in time. This process continues because a certain group of our citizens is still in Afghanistan, therefore, the Administration of the Prime Minister of Georgia is actively working with all agencies and international partners to organize additional flights that will allow our citizens to return home safely in the near future", - said Ilia Darchiashvili, the Head of the government administration.
