The Central Election Commission (CEC) held a news briefing regarding the voting rights of citizens of Georgia who have been removed from registration, whose registration has been declared invalid, and who registered without indication of address.

According to legislation, a voter holding a valid ID card of a citizen of Georgia or passport of a citizen of Georgia and has been removed from registration based on place of residence, or whose registration has been declared invalid, are included in the unified voters’ list according to the location of their last registration or their actual address for 2 October 2021 municipal elections.

As for voters registered without indicating their addresses, they are included in the unified list of voters according to their actual addresses included in the electronic database of the Public Service Development Agency (PSDA).

Voters removed from the registration, whose registration is invalid, voters registered without indicating their addresses whose actual place of residence is not even indicated in the digital database of the agency, should address PSDA starting when elections are called by September 11th and indicate their actual address and take a digital photo. The abovementioned citizens will enjoy certain benefits while going through this procedure.

“We call on citizens who have been removed from registration, whose registration has been declared invalid, and who registered without indication of address timely address the Agency by September 11th and go through necessary procedures to participate in the municipal election. Otherwise, they will not be included in the unified voter’s list and fail to vote in elections”, - reads the statement.
