30 ODIHR long-term observers to arrive in Georgia in coming days - the MFA

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with the Head of the ODIHR Election Observation Mission in Georgia.

Albert Jónsson informed Alexandre Khvtisiashvili about the arrival of the OSCE observers for the local self-government elections and the planned activities.

The head of the observation mission noted that during the monitoring activities, the Mission will be guided by the observance of all security rules defined by the legislation and regulations of Georgia, in order to minimize the risks of infection.

“The Deputy Foreign Minister thanked the Monitoring Mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights for carrying out its monitoring mission despite the difficult situation caused by the pandemic. He underlined the readiness and efforts of the Georgian side to ensure the involvement of the maximum number of international observers in the monitoring process”, - reads the statement of the MIA.

It should be noted that 30 ODIHR long-term observers will arrive in Georgia in the coming days.
