Parliament passes constitutional amendments in the first reading

Parliament passed the planned amendments to the constitutional law with 126 votes in the first reading. The bill was put to a vote without the clause that provides for the election of the Prosecutor General by a qualified majority - three-fifths of the full membership of Parliament.

According to the draft, based on the next 2 parliamentary elections, the seats of the members of the Parliament will be distributed to the political parties that will receive 2% of the votes.

Parliamentary elections will be held under the proportional system, the so-called unallocated seats will remain with the parties with the largest balance. The number of faction members in the current and next 2 convocations of the Parliament should not be less than four.
