State institutions and development partners held a thematic coordination group meeting to discuss economic growth.
The meeting was chaired by Georgia’s Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Genadi Arveladze and Head of the European Investment Bank"s regional representation Maciej Czura.
The meeting was addressed by Deputy Head of the Georgian Government’s Administration Revaz Javelidze and UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia Sabine Machl. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of this field and the complex factors underpinning its development, especially in light of the ongoing pandemic impacting virtually every aspect of life.
During the meeting, representatives of relevant state institutions reviewed the work performed and success achieved in their respective areas, also discussing in detail sectoral priorities and ways to achieve them. The meeting discussed such large areas as private sector development, economic views on the development of agriculture and rural areas, infrastructural projects, and green economy.
At the meeting, development partners presented their own visions of the issues discussed and expressed commitment to furthering cooperation.
Meetings of thematic coordination groups (social welfare, sustainable use of natural resources, economic growth, human resources development, democratic governance, rule of law, and justice) are organized once a year by the Donor Coordination Division of the Georgian Government"s Administration and seek to facilitate strategic dialogue between development partners and state institutions on directions prioritized by the Government.
