The President of Georgia comments on the possible arrival on Mikheil Saakashvili.
According to Salome Zourabichvili, when we “crucially need peace to hold free and fair elections tomorrow, unrest is circulating in the country”.
“Mockery and scoffing are not the answer when some people question the effectiveness of state structures in the country. The state is responsible for the prevention of destabilization and tensions during the pre-election period, thwart polarization.
Holding a peaceful and free electoral environment is in the government’s hands. The time for civil strife has passed. I believe it will never come back as our citizens are more vigilant than politicians. I stand with them, not on any street or square, but on the side of Constitutional order and a peaceful future.
I call on everyone to take responsibility. Stability of the country is our common achievement, to which we will never give up”, - said the President.
