3 arrested for murder of Anastasia Shatalova in Tbilisi - Prosecutor’s Office

Police have detained 3 persons in the case of the premeditated murder of 27-year-old Russian citizen Anastasia Shatalova which took place in Tbilisi on October 18.

One of the detainees, identified only as B.L., shot Shatalova several times resulting in her death on the spot.

Another detainee - B.Kh. - helped B.L. to flee the scene in a vehicle while a third arrested individual - L.R. - a friend of B.Kh, owned the apartment where B.Kh later hid.

“Also, in the framework of the criminal case, L.R. was charged for resisting police officers and illegally purchasing and storing a particularly large amount of drugs, while B.Kh. was charged with attempting to take the lives of police officers, covering up a serious crime, and illegal purchase, store, carrying of ammunition.

The prosecution has already appealed to the court to use detention as a measure of restraint against the accused”, - reads the statement of the Prosecutor’s Office.

The crime is punishable by eight to 20 years in prison.
