A working meeting was held in Kakheti region to discuss the development of amelioration infrastructure and the improvement of water supply to agricultural land plots.

Gigla Tamazashvili, the General Director of “Georgian Amelioration” Ltd, together with the company’s management, met with Platon Kalmakhelidze, the State Representative in Kakheti region, and the Mayors of Gurjaani, Telavi, and Akhmeta municipalities.

The meeting focused on the ongoing and planned amelioration infrastructure projects in the municipalities. The projects aim to ensure the proper operation of irrigation schemes, improve water supply to agricultural land plots and enhance the quality of irrigation water supply to farmers. The challenges related to the irrigation season and the ways to address them were also discussed.

“Understanding the needs of the regions firsthand and maintaining active cooperation with local self-governments are among the company’s top priorities. This approach facilitates the joint identification of challenges, the planning of appropriate measures, and coordinated decision-making on amelioration infrastructure”, - said Gigla Tamazashvili.

Coordinated cooperation between the central and local authorities will continue actively in future for further development of amelioration infrastructure and improvement of irrigation water supply.
