Ambassador Kelly Degnan observed voting at Precinct Election Commissions 1 and 38, where she engaged with citizens, polling workers, and volunteers, and reiterated

“It was great to see Georgian citizens in Rustavi doing their patriotic duty in a peaceful and safe manner. Georgian citizens’ dedication to democracy under such difficult circumstances continues to impress me!

This is the day when the citizens are heard, and I’m very pleased to see, in the precincts I visited so far, a very calm environment, well-organized voting spaces also prepared for COVID. There are very good preparations to keep people safe when they’re coming out to vote. I do hope that people will come out to vote.

The people of Georgia are the cornerstone of democracy, and we really congratulate Georgian citizens for taking their voting so seriously”, - said Kelly Degnan.
