The Prime Minister of Georgia congratulated the Georgian people on the birthday of Ilia Chavchavadze.

“Today we celebrate the birthday of the greatest writer and public figure, one of the main creators of modern Georgia, Ilia Chavchavadze. Ilia’s whole life, his every step and initiative was aimed at strengthening Georgia, developing his society.

It is a rare case in history when one person was able to determine the future of the country with personal efforts of incredible scale. Ilia’s work awakened the dormant national self-consciousness and state thinking in the Georgian people.
