Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are mobilized near Tbilisi City Court due to security measures. Relevant police technic has also been placed in the area.
“At Tbilisi City Court, the trial involving Ukrainian citizen, former Georgian President - Mikheil Saakashvili, is scheduled to be held today. Officers of the relevant police units will ensure public order and security on the ground in parallel with the scheduled session.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs, as the agency responsible for maintaining the rule of law, calls on citizens to observe the requirements of the law during the assembly and expression and adhere to the rightful requests of the police. Herewith, we would also like to warn manifestation organizers, including political leaders, to refrain from calls for violence so that manifestation is held in a peaceful manner to ensure Mikheil Saakashvili’s attendance at the court is carried out in full compliance with security measures.
The police will act in accordance with its mandate and immediately foil any fact of violation”, - reads the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
