Gigi Ugulava was detained by police during the protest rally in front of the Tbilisi City Court.

One of the leaders of the opposition is detained under Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which pertains to disobedience to a lawful request of the law enforcers.

A trial hearing concerning the illegal dispersal of an opposition rally in Tbilisi on November 7, 2007 in which the former president is charged with the abuse of power is underway in Tbilisi City Court.
