Natia Turnava met with Turkish Trade Minister

Georgian Minister of Economy met with Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mus during the Georgia-Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Forum held in Baku.

“Bilateral trade between Georgia and Turkey has increased by 30% in the first 10 months of 2021, while export to Turkey has increased by 66% in the reported period.

Export of agricultural products has increased by 24%, while exports of industrial products has increased by 84%. Georgia and Turkey are successfully cooperating in the trade, energy, transport, communication, tourism and other sectors”, - said Natia Turnava.

“In Baku, we met with Natela Turnava, Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.

We discussed expanding the scope of our Free Trade Agreement, trade in services, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and cooperation in customs issues”, - added Mehmet Mus.

They agreed that the next meeting of the free trade committee of Georgia and Turkey would be held in Tbilisi on December 23 to strengthen cooperation through the liberalization of tariffs.

Ministers also discussed the opportunities ensured by a new economic cooperation strategy between Georgia, Turkey and the European Union.
