A punitive operation is being carried out against the State Inspector. Such a statement made today Salome Samadashvili, an opposition MP.
“I can’t call it anything other than a punitive operation - the adoption of a bill at an extraordinary session in an expedited manner, which is strongly opposed by our strategic allies. I do not remember the US Ambassador coming to the parliament just to stop the adoption of the law. Nevertheless, we see that the Government is motivated to abolish an independent body.
At the same time, we have initiated an alternative bill and we are ready to discuss the necessary changes, but it will take time, the discussion of the Government’s bill should be stopped and postponed for the next session”, - said Salome Samadashvili.
