The Special Penitentiary Service confirms that Mikheil Saakashvili was transferred to Rustavi prison and notes that this was done in full compliance with the law.

“Convict Mikheil Saakashvili is in 12th penitentiary establishment. Due to high public interest, we clarify that on December 30, the convicted / accused Mikheil Saakashvili is transferred from the LEPL Giorgi Abramishvili Military Hospital of the Ministry of Defense to 12th Establishment in full compliance with the law”, - reads the statement of the agency.
