Several cases have been launched at the Ukrainian Prosecutor’s Office against Penitentiary officials in connection with Mikheil Saakashvili’s torture, inhuman treatment, damage to health and ill-treatment. Such a statement made former president’s Ukrainian lawyer Yevgeny Grushovets.

“Mikheil Saakashvili wrote a statement to be recognized as a victim in these cases. We have already held a number of meetings with Ukrainian state agencies. Doctors and experts are ready to come to Georgia to assess the degree of damage done to Saakashvili’s health.

When we return to Ukraine, we will submit the relevant documents to the Prosecutor General’s Office. Saakashvili personally addressed the Prosecutor General too. We believe that systematic and permanent efforts are underway to further damage Saakashvili’s health”, - added Evgeni Grushovets.
