With the coordination of the National Security Council’s Office, a meeting was held, with the representatives of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and academia, with the aim of updating the national level conceptual document – the National Security Concept.
At the meeting, employees of the Office of the National Security Council presented, to the experts, the draft National Security Concept. The document has been elaborated within an interagency framework, and the respective process has been coordinated by the Office of the National Security Council.
In the course of the meeting, the participants discussed structure and content of the draft National Security Concept. Intensive cooperation, with the civil society and foreign partners, is foreseen before the document is submitted, to the Parliament, for its approval.
Government of Georgia plans to submit the draft National Security Concept for approval, to the legislative organ, during the Spring session of the Parliament.
The document reflects national values and interests of the country, sets out the vision for safe development of Georgia and defines the threats and challenges facing the state.
