We have given the opposition important tools and leverage to do its work in Parliament. Such a statement made today the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, while talking about the idea of setting up a commission of inquiry into Mikheil Saakashvili to justify their entry to Parliament.
“It seems that this is a kind of excuse for justification so that they do not tell their supporters the truth directly, that it is necessary to enter the legislature, that this is demanded by the society and that this is what our international partners are asking for and advising.
You know that after the constitutional reform, the Georgian Dream changed the rules of procedure of the Parliament. We have given the opposition important tools and leverage to do its work in legislature. Consequently, the opposition itself can create a commission.
The investigation has already been completed on the issue for which Mikheil Saakashvili is in prison, the International Court of Justice also said in Girgvliani’s case that under [Mikheil] Saakashvili’s presidency, the entire state administration was involved in serious violations related to Girgvliani’s case. So there is nothing to investigate here”, - said Archil Talakvadze.
