The needed cautious and transparent attitude towards the State Inspector’s Service was not observed. Such a statement made today the EU Ambassador to Georgia.
“The State Inspector’s Service is a fundamental institution for ensuring control and balance, and requires a particularly cautious and transparent attitude towards it, which the EU Delegation did not see at the end of 2021. This is worrying for the EU, because it is fundamentally necessary for such an institution to function properly.
The EU has made great efforts, including financial, to strengthen the State Inspector’s Service. Concerns have been raised not only by the European Union, but also by the US, the UN and the Council of Europe”, - said Carl Hartzell.
