Georgia supports the steps that will be taken by the international community and partners in relation to the violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty. Such a statement made today the Vice Speaker of Parliament.

“Georgia strongly supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. Any aggression against Ukraine and violation of its sovereignty is unacceptable. We are by the side of the Ukrainian people and we all understand and see that what is happening in Ukraine - the occupation of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions - exactly repeats the Russian occupation of the Georgian regions.

We are in close coordination with the United States and the European Union, and look forward to effective action by the international community in dealing with illegal actions that violate international law.

Sanctions will be developed by the US and the EU, and of course, when we said that we expect the international community to take effective steps, we meant that the sanctions are being worked on”, - said Archil Talakvadze.
