I am not going to be a politician, this is not my job. Such a statement made today former Minister of Defense.

Bacho Akhalaia left Rustavi Penitentiary #12 a few minutes ago.

“I am very tired, exhausted. I am not going to be a politician, this is not my job. My goal is standing next to me - my wife and children. This is the main task and I want to get a little on my feet. I am exhausted and tired”, - said Bacho Akhalaia.

His 9-year sentence expired on November 6 last year, however, as his wife and lawyer Ani Nadareishvili explains, the 9-year sentence count started from the date of the verdict, not considering the measure of the restraint detention period.

The former Minister of Defense, Bacho Akhalaia, was sentenced to 9 years in prison in the case of torture of prisoners.
