We started the process of reducing the price of medicines. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“We have started the process of reducing the price of medicines. We opened the Turkish market with the reservation that only high-standard medicines would be imported. Medicines have already arrived in Georgia and are available, several types of medicines are already sold in pharmacies, the most demanded medicines.
For example, the medicine for the treatment of cardiovascular disease, if its cost was GEL 220, today it costs GEL 48. In most cases, the prices are reduced by 60 to 80%.
I want to thank Minister Zurab Azarashvili, he worked very actively, he was involved in this process. He will travel to Turkey today to meet with a colleague and bring even more benefits.
Dozens of different types of medicines have already been submitted to the Ministry for registration, this process will be accelerated very soon, so that all medicines can be replaced in time”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
