We’re very proud of what the US and Georgia have been able to accomplish over the last 30 years. Such a statement made the Ambassador of US to Georgia at Event Marking 30 Years of U.S. - Georgian Diplomatic Relations
“We’re here today to mark 30 years of diplomatic relations between the United States and Georgia. We’re very, very proud of what the United States and Georgia have been able to accomplish over the last 30 years. I see it everywhere I go when I travel around Georgia: in the schools that we built together through the Millennium Challenge Corporation; in the products that Georgian farmers are growing and selling to new markets at higher prices; in the excellent performance of the coast guard, the border police, customs, and law enforcement.
And, of course, in the strong, strong cooperation that we’ve seen with the brave Georgian Defense Forces, keeping Georgia safe and defending Georgia’s borders. So we are really thrilled to be looking forward to what’s to come. We’re honored to have the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister, and the Deputy Administrator of USAID here with us today to mark this occasion. I think it’s a sign of just how important Georgia is to the United States. We have so much to look back on over the last 30 years, and we’re very excited about what’s to come in the years ahead”, - said Kelly Degnan.
