Today, European Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi will hand over the questionnaire for EU membership to Ilia Darchiashvili. Such a statement made the Prime Minister of Georgia.
“Today is an important day. Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili is in Luxemburg where he is scheduled to meet with European Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi to receive the questionnaire for EU membership, effectively advancing us to a new stage. Since we signed and submitted a membership application, the process has been on, and we are about to receive this questionnaire. This process calls for maximal involvement from every institution.
I will be personally involved to control this process, and we will fill and submit the questionnaire to Brussels as fast as possible. I would like to remind our citizens once again that every good and progress achieved in relations with the EU over the past few years is tied to our Government, our ruling team, from the Association Agreement, free trade, and visa-free travel to the recent official membership application-all this is tied to Georgian Dream.
And it is with the same responsibility that we will treat this questionnaire, engaging, filling, and returning this documentation as soon as possible. I expect close cooperation with the Parliament and other stakeholders contributing to this process”, - said Irakli Garibashvii.
