Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 7 people for drug-related crimes, including 4 drug dealers

The officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, together with the Prosecutor General’s Office, arrested 7 people for drug-related crimes, including 4 drug dealers, as a result of intensive operations and investigative activities.

The officers of the Central Criminal Police Department detained the following persons in Tbilisi for illegal sale of drugs: a foreign citizen, M.M. (DoB 1987). M.J. (DoB 1963) and N.K. (DoB 1983). Other individuals: formerly convicted Sh.A. (DoB 1981), E.M. (DoB 1983) and N.A. (DoB 1979) are detained for illegal purchase and keeping of drugs in especially large quantities.

The officers of Kvemo Kartli Police Department, based on a judge"s decision, arrested previously convicted in the past and currently on probation - T.R. (DoB 1994) for the repeated illegal purchase, possession and sale of drugs.

The committed crimes envision from 8 to 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.

The investigation established that persons arrested for drug dealing, sold drugs on the regular basis.

Following the court decision, the law enforcers repeatedly conducted the so-called control purchases of Heroin, Alpha Pvp and Buprenorphine from the detainee and secretly recorded the purchase process.

The drug Alpha Pvp sold by T.R. was seized as evidence by the law enforcers.

During the personal search of N.A. the police seized 50 packages of heroin, and during the search of his garage, policemen also found more than half a kilogram of marijuana packed in 2 bags of polyethylene, as well as 8 ammunition cartridges and presumably by knife. Extracted money - 1800 USD and 1700 GEL.

The staff of the Central Criminal Police and the Patrol Police Department detained E.M. in Ponichala settlement. As a result of his personal search, up to 500 grams of heroin were seized as evidence.

During the personal search of Sh.A. 9 packages of heroin and 1 package of methadone were seized.

The investigation is underway under Article 260, Parts III, V, VI and VII, as well as article 273 (1), Part VI and Article 236, Part III of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
