Mikheil Saakashvili not to attend today’s trial

The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili in the November 7 case will be held today, May 2. The hearing will take place at the Tbilisi City Court at 11:00 a.m.

Due to health condition, the former president will not attend the trial.

The state indictment accuses Mikheil Saakashvili of mass dispersal of protesters on November 7, 2007, intrusion into Imedi TV and criminal seizure of Badri Patarkatsishvili’s property. The 3rd President has been charged under the 3rd part of Article 333 of the Criminal Code of Georgia [abuse of office, which has led to a substantial violation of the rights of a natural or legal person, society or state].
