Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, as part of his ongoing working visit to Brussels, met with Olivér Várhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement.
The meeting’s key topics included Georgia’s EU membership bid, the country’s completed questionnaire, and the European Commission’s decision on Georgia’s readiness for a candidate country status.
The parties also discussed the process of working on the questionnaire completed by the country ahead of schedule, as well as key steps to be taken by Georgia toward qualifying as a candidate country.
According to the Head of Government, it is important that the process of EU accession by the Associated Trio enjoys firm support from EU institutions.
The meeting also discussed the region’s security situation, in which context the Prime Minister reaffirmed Georgia’s solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
