Tornike Rijvadze, Chairman of the Government of Ajara Autonomous Republic held an introductory meeting with Nick Beresford, UNDP Resident Representative.

The meeting focused on ongoing projects with financial assistance from the United Nations and the European Union. Several important projects are being implemented in Ajara with the involvement of UNDP.

These include the development of transport systems as part of the Green Cities project, a strategy for protected areas, waste management, the environment and cultural development.
