President of Poland Andrzej Duda criticized the fact that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French head of state Emmanuel Macron continue to hold telephone conversations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin - despite the continuation of Russia’s war in Ukraine. Duda gave an interview to Bild.

“I am amazed at all the conversations that are being held with Putin, especially with Chancellor Scholz, President Emmanuel Macron. These negotiations lead to nothing”, - the politician said.

According to the Polish leader, these conversations rather have the effect of “a kind of legitimation for someone who is responsible for the crimes committed by the Russian army in Ukraine”.

Putin alone is responsible for sending Russian forces to Ukraine, Duda said. It is Putin who is supported by the commanders of the troops, the president added.

“Did anyone during World War II talk like that to Adolf Hitler?” asked the Polish leader. “Someone said that he (the dictator) should save face? What is necessary to act in such a way that it would not be humiliating for Adolf Hitler?” Andrzej Duda continued. He does not know such politicians, summed up the head of the Polish state.
