Kara McDonald, Deputy Assistant Secretary for U.S. Department of State: Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor is paying an official visit to Tbilisi.

To learn firsthand about the democracy + human rights challenges Georgia faces, she met with leaders of Georgia’s vibrant civil society: to discuss rule of law, elections, judiciary, media freedom, and human rights for all in Georgia.

Deputy Assistant Secretary McDonald reiterated the United States’ firm commitment to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic aspirations and stressed that democratic reforms were the way to further them.
