The Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the Chair of the EU Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Ireland, Joe McHugh and the Committee members.

The meeting was dedicated to the discussion of the cooperation between Georgia and Ireland. Mr. Papuashvili expressed his gratitude to Ireland for supporting the territorial integrity and EU integration of Georgia and stressed yet another Resolution adopted by the Senate of Ireland in support of Georgia, calling on the EU to grant the status of the EU candidate state to Georgia.

The Speaker overviewed the reforms implemented within the Association Agreement and steps taken in the EU integration term.

As the Irish MP noted, Ireland keeps supporting the European future of Georgia.

The meeting was held within the visit of the Multi-party Parliamentary Delegation of Ireland to Georgia.
