We offer them an inclusive process to see what issues can be agreed upon, they offer us the process of ultimatums - Shalva Papuashvili

Part of the opposition and certain NGOs are using the European Commission document to deepen polarization. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Parliament.

“I am not at all surprised that after the European Commission determined these recommendations, first point of which is to reduce polarization - the first thing that the opposition and certain non-governmental organizations did was to take this document and use it to deepen polarization.

Such wrong understanding of Europeanness, Georgia’s European aspiration, and EU’s attitude towards us shows that the only thing behind this can be to somehow discredit the process related to the implementation of these recommendations.

As for the 12 points, the content is defined. Of course, it is the Government’s responsibility to implement these recommendations, so we have defined a fairly clear and specific schedule, indicating specific months, when the initiation will take place, when the law will be adopted, and what do we see from the opposition and some NGOs, which have been carrying out party politics lately?

We offer them an inclusive process to see what issues can be agreed upon, they offer us the process of ultimatums when they say that they have a bill or an idea that is already defined in content, which the Parliament must accept, that is, they do not offer an agreement, they offer us to agree on their terms, which is an ultimatum and it completely contradicts the essence of these recommendations to be an inclusive process and an attempt to reduce polarization”, - said Shalva Papuashvili.
