The Committee held the offsite sitting in Batumi, where MPs discussed the activity reports of the agencies of Maritime Transport, Land Transport, and Civil Aviation of Georgia for 6 months of 2021 and 2022.
The activity report of the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia was presented by the Director, Tamar Ioselian. The rapporteur dwelt on the infrastructure projects in ports and Western investments. According to Tamar Ioseliani, it is planned to implement the one window principle in the harbors and digitize all services.
The reports of the Land Transport Agency and the Civil Aviation Agency were presented by the Directors, Levan Gamkrelidze and Levan Karanadze.
“The reports that have been supplied show that Georgia’s cargo turnover has increased as a result of the current regional scenario. Understanding their work and how prepared our nation’s land, air, and sea transportation is to handle these challenges is one of the key reasons the Committee heard the reports. It is crucial that the agencies function well and actively, have suitable plans, and are able to successfully address any obstacles in this regard”, - said David Songhulashvili.
