The members of the parliamentary opposition met with the representatives of non-governmental organizations to discuss the issues related to ensuring a proper media environment, which is one of the 12 recommendations of the European Union to Georgia.
“The media is one of the complex issues to which our European partners demand an answer from Georgia. Obviously, we also discussed the cases of media managers, including the case of Nika Gvaramia, as well as the threat that TV Formula is likely to encounter in the near future.
We have to think of a solution to these problems. We agreed that Tamar Kordzaia, who has a lot of experience in this regard, will coordinate this issue. We have the most difficult task to perform, but we ought to arrive at a tangible solution before September, which will be in line with EU regulations, as well as with the very urgent decisions related to the case of Nika Gvaramia, TV company Formula and other TV organizations”, - said Giorgi Vashadze.
