The draft amendments to the regulations regarding the procedure for electing a new Public Defender were adopted by the Parliament in the II reading with 80 votes.
In contrast to the voting in the first reading, the MPs from the United National Movement, Strategy Aghmashenebeli and Lelo didn’t support the draft legislative amendments prepared by the ruling team. They made this decision because, as they say, the Georgian Dream didn’t share their proposals and remarks.
From the opposition, the draft law was supported by: Mikheil Daushvili, Shalva Kereselidze, Aleko Elisashvili, Levan Yoseliani, Tamar Kordzaia, Herman Sabo, as well as Avtandil Enukidze and Fridon Injia.
