Irakli Garibashvili meets State Minister of the United Arab Emirates for Economy and Trade

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, State Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for Economy and Trade today.

Meeting was focused on the cooperation existing between the two countries in various areas of the economy. It was noted that political dialogue pursued between Georgia and UAE has advanced upwards, as evidenced by the high-level visits in countries.

Topics discussed by the dignitaries included the favorable business environment existing in Georgia. It was noted that a number of projects are implemented in the country with investments from UAE and their increasing number is gratifying. It was also noted that preliminary talks will commence in the coming months for concluding a Free Trade Agreement between the nations. According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, establishment of a Free Trade Zone will create a supporting climate for promoting and advancing economic and trade relations between Georgia and UAE.

The Head of Government of Georgia expressed his gratitude to the UAE Government for granting a visa-free travel arrangement to the citizens of Georgia.

Meeting held at the Government Administration was attended by Abdullah M. Al Mazrui, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Adel Al Hosani, Director of the Operations Department at the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD); Sami Edward Adams, Managing Director of Dhabi Group; Massimo Falconi, CEO of Etihad Credit Insurance; Saed Al Awadi, CEO of Dubai Industries & Exports from the visiting side, while the Georgian attendees included Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia; Alexandre Khvtisiashvili, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and H.E. Paata Kalandadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Arab Emirates.
