Candidates for the position of Public Defender can submit applications to the Parliament of Georgia until September 29.

The 9-member commission will assign the appropriate points to the candidates. The ruling team says that the discussion on the issue has already started.

Applicants must be Georgian citizens, and the same candidate cannot be selected as Ombudsman twice consecutively under the Georgian Constitution and Organic Law on Public Defenders.
