The Committee heard the candidate for the Auditor General, Tsotne Kavlashvili.
According to the Chair of the Committee, Irakli Kovzanadze, the authority of the incumbent Auditor expires on September 20 and pursuant to the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure, the Speaker is to nominate the candidate.
“The State Audit is a key structure and the main institute of the Parliament ensuring the control of the public finances and the people’s funds. The State Audit Service is a key instrument for us and it is paramount to ensure its high quality and high professionality of the Auditor General”, - he said and introduced the biographic data of the candidate.
“I have fully acknowledged the responsibility that I am to assume when elected on the position and I would like to assure you that I will do all in my power to make this institution even more successful and effective”, - the candidate stated.
The Committee approved the candidate.
