Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi. At the meeting, the Ministers reviewed the current agenda and priority issues of bilateral relations between Georgia and Qatar.

The Ministers welcomed the recent intensification of relations between the two countries, which has a positive impact on various areas of cooperation. In this regard, the sides noted with satisfaction the visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to Qatar and the meetings held by him, including with the Emir of Qatar.

Positively evaluating the trade and economic cooperation between Qatar and Georgia, The Ministers noted the great potential that exists between the countries in this direction, including the growing Georgian imports to Qatar.

The Ministers agreed to work actively with the relevant agencies to deepen economic ties that will eventually lead to the signing of appropriate trade agreements. A positive appraisal was also given to the increasing number of tourist arrivals and Qatari tourists’ high interest in Georgia.

In this regard, the Ministers noted successful operation of Qatar Airlines in Georgia and direct flights, which contribute to the deepening of people-to-people contacts. Special attention was paid to the existing cooperation between the two countries in multilateral formats. The sides emphasized Qatar"s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.
