Minister of Internal Affairs met with newly appointed Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Ambassadors of Armenia and Iran

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia, Pawel Herczynski. During the meeting, the parties discussed the existing challenges in the context of regional security, competences of the Ministry of Internal Affairs within the EU- Georgia cooperation, as well as the successful ongoing cooperation with relevant EU agencies. Vakhtang Gomelauri introduced Pawel Herczynski with the ongoing reforms within the Ministry and underlined the importance of the EU support in the reform process.

The Minister also held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of Iran to Georgia, Mahmud Adib. Parties stressed the importance of bilateral police cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of two countries and expressed hope that with the joint efforts existing partnership will be further enhanced in the future.

Besides, Vakhtang Gomelauri held an introductory meeting with the Ambassador of Armenia to Georgia Ashot Smbatyan. During the meeting parties discussed existing close and effective police cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries. The Minister expressed hope that with the joint efforts above-mentioned cooperation will be further enhanced.
