Irakli Garibashvili meets with France-based Georgian sculptor Goudji Amashukeli

Georgian Prime Minister met with France-based Georgian sculptor Goudji Amashukeli.

During his visit to the US in September 2021, Irakli Garibashvili presented the UN with a museum exhibition copy of The Knight in the Panther’s Skin, with its repoussé cover authored by Goudji Amashukeli, a celebrated France-based Georgian sculptor.

This treasured, unique repoussé cover of national importance is made from silver and uses up to twenty different types of gemstones. The copy is displayed in one of the most prominent spots at the UN Headquarters, in New York. Goudji Amashukeli’s sculptures, symbolic artworks, medallions, jewelry, and golden and silver sculptured items on mythological and religious themes are owned by world-famous museums, galleries, and private collections. Each artwork by Goudji Amashukeli is unique, never repeated.

Hailed as Master of Art, Goudji Amashukeli has been made Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters in recognition of his exceptional merit in art, also being Knight of the National Order of Merit and the holder of the title of Maître d’art.

His works are preserved at Vatican and Louvre Museums, Notre-Dame de Paris Museum, the Museums of Decorative Arts in Paris and Lyon, Dobrée Museum of Nantes, Museum Mandet de Riom, and others.
