I remember only two attacks on the US Ambassador in Georgia - one by Nika Gvaramia and the other by Nika Melia. Such a comment made today the Chairman of the Georgian Dream, while evaluating the statement of US Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie Jenkins.
“As far as I know, the term “attack” was used. I don’t remember any attacks on the US Ambassador, except 2, there were 2 exceptions, one by Nika Gvaramia and the other by Nika Melia. They had such statements, expressions, including insulting expressions. I just don’t remember another attack. Therefore, I don"t know who she meant. You have to ask her.
Let us remind you that they [members of the People’s Power] started everything by asking questions. Then the questions were not answered and this was followed by their interpretation. This is certainly not an attack.
Georgia is proud that after 2012, we have had freedom of expression. Freedom of expression is relevant not only within the country, but also in international relations. Naturally, no one can restrict anyone"s freedom of expression. Everything would have become clear if the questions had been answere”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
US Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security Bonnie D. Jenkins, who is paying a visit to Tbilisi, said that they’ve been dismayed to see personal attacks on US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan.
