The Georgian Dream has decided to create a legal entity under public law - the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The main task of this Bureau will be to promote the fight against corruption.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau shall supervise the implementation of the general anti-corruption policy document and the national anti-corruption strategy.
The legal entity will also coordinate the activities of the relevant bodies, organizations and officials.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau shall be accountable to the legislature and the Inter-Agency Anti-Corruption Council.
In particular, the Head of the Bureau shall submit annual report to the Parliament and the periodic reports to the Inter-Agency Anti-Corruption Council.
“The legislative amendments drafted by us serve to fulfill the 4th point of the 12-point plan of the European Commission and to receive the status of a candidate for EU membership. We will initiate the package of legislative changes today. The Legal Issues Committee will start the review of the draft law from next week”, - said Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee.
