Georgian Minister of Economy held meetings with the European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson and the Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean, within the framework of a working visit to Brussels.
Levan Davitashvili and Kadri Simson discussed bilateral projects between Georgia and the EU and the approximation of the country’s legislative framework to European legislation. Simson highlighted future prospective projects between Georgia and the EU, and noted that a feasibility study was conducted to analyse the profitability of the construction of an underwater cable to connect the EU and the country.
Vălean, after the meeting with Davitashvili, said she “highly appreciated” Georgia’s activities in terms of playing a regional role in coordinating efforts for the development of the Middle Corridor, the economy ministry said.
As she added, the further harmonisation of regulations between Europe and Georgia was also discussed during the meeting with Davitashvili.
