European Council President Charles Michel on the sidelines of the G20 summit said he does not have a scheduled meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
Talking about a joint G20 declaration that would condemn Moscow’s military operation in Ukraine, Michel said he backs the member nations putting “more pressure on Russia” to end its months-long invasion.
“I am absolutely convinced that we should try to use the meeting today and tomorrow to convince all of the parties to put more pressure on Russia”, - said Michel, arguing that the only way to stop the global food and energy crisis is to end the fighting.
