Prime Minister of Georgia highlighted the country’s “double-digit” economic growth at the weekly Government meeting.
“The final version of the 2023 budget would be presented to the parliament on Wednesday, with a 10% economic growth forecast, instead of the earlier 8.%, included in the document. This means that we have had double-digit economic growth for two consecutive years, which is the result of a sound economic policy.
Under the 2023 state budget the gross domestic product would reach GEL 80 billion. This means that GDP will reach USD 7,500 per capita, which is a great progress in the last 2 years”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
He also noted GEL 400 million in this year’s budget was expected to reduce its deficit to 3.1%, down from the 4.4% at the beginning of 2022.
