The decisions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the completion of the investigation of the situation in Georgia and the issuance of arrest warrants for 3 citizens of “South Ossetia” indicate that the international institution, which portrays Russia as an aggressor, is used as an instrument of pressure on Russia. Such a statement made David Sanakoev, the so-called MP of Tskhinvali “parliament”.
“The fact that the investigation of the ICC has now ended in this form indicates that this international institution is being used as an instrument of pressure on Russia. During Georgia’s attack on South Ossetia, we were the victim, and Georgia was the aggressor.
Now the ICC wants to portray us as criminals, and Russia as an aggressor, which attacked Georgia on August 8, 2008”, - said Sanakoev.
According to the Prosecutor of the ICC, Karim Khan, the stage of the investigation in the case of the 2008 August War has been completed, although the work is still underway to ensure the successful prosecution of those subject to arrest warrants: Mikhail Mindzaev, Hamlet Guchmazov and David Sanakoev.
